As Chief Development Officer at Gandalf, I’m proud of what clients say about the caring, energetic, positive, and strategic influence we have, as we bring deep understanding, personalized coaching, and creativity to our partnering, to advance leadership capabilities, solve complex problems and issues, and optimize profitability.

I am primarily a coach who partners with leaders to help them grow and develop. In addition to being a Coach, I am a Connector. I help individuals connect with businesses and resources that facilitate transformation.

Through Gandalf, we provide access to proven business tools, ideas, processes, strategies, and personalized support. In addition, we offer a number of proprietary capabilities designed to help our clients thrive.

Gandalf's W. Scott Brown has cultivated organizational cultures where coaching is at the heart of leadership and personal development. His philosophy emphasizes that everyone in an organization can both coach and be coached. This approach fosters continuous learning and development, empowering individuals to unlock their unique talents and abilities. Through solution-focused, personalized, one-on-one coaching, Scott helps individuals discover who they are truly meant to be, ultimately creating stronger, more authentic leadership teams.

Scott’s work is grounded in a concept he calls Core Inclination™.

This describes someone’s natural tendencies or strengths that energize and motivate them. Rather than just being a learned skill or knowledge area, a core inclination is an area where someone:

Feels naturally excited or energized.

Learns faster than others, often with minimal formal training.

Excels with less effort and gets noticed or praised for their performance.

Is drawn to certain types of activities repeatedly and with genuine curiosity.

For example, some people are inclined toward music, quickly picking up rhythms and melodies, while others have a core inclination for logical reasoning, thriving on problem-solving or analyzing patterns. Still, others might have core inclinations for interpersonal connection, teaching, physical movement, design, or digital creation.

Recognizing your own core inclination is essentially recognizing where your “natural edge” lies. It points to unique abilities and traits that set you apart from others, making you feel alive and engaged. Nurturing and combining these core strengths can help clarify the roles, projects, or career paths best suited to you, and can be a strong guide for personal and professional fulfillment.
